ABOUT BAYRIDGE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

Chairman of the Board

Welcome,

The call to ministry is the call for preparation; preparation in a variety of areas that are as ever changing as society. The School of Ministry at Bay Ridge Christian College will prepare you for ministry by helping you develop an understanding of God’s word and its practical application. The program is designed for students who want to obtain certificates in ministry.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael P. Williams
Board Chairman

President

The call to ministry  compels men and women to be activists!  Dr. Germany was compelled to create a Christian College for African Americans to change the world by changing hearts. His commitment inspires us to continue the mission. Our mission, your future. The transformational power of the gospel stirs the souls of men to be relevant in their time and to their generation. The need is greater than ever for men and women of God to be the Church without walls and be activists for social justice in the communities their churches serve. The mission of Bay Ridge is clear; equip ministers to be agents of change to transform lives and their community. Relocating from Kendleton to Houston will provide the college with financial resources and the opportunity to draw upon theological expertise of a vibrant community of faith to prepare individuals to meet the needs of their church.   “Never close a book, just turn the page!” -Author Unknown

Our History

Bay Ridge Christian College was founded by Dr. James Horace Germany in 1953 in Union, Mississippi to prepare African-American pastors for leadership in both urban and rural churches and the communities they serve.

After several years of operating the college in Mississippi, he moved the college to Kendleton, Texas after being beaten by members of the white Citizens Council of Senatobia and local Klansmen.
